Immigrants found in Dover tanker

Fifteen illegal immigrants were found inside a road tanker on board P&O’s Spirit of France ferry at Dover at 08.45 this morning (Wednesday).

All required medical treatment with two suffering breathing difficulties and heat exhaustion,the BBC reported. Six fire engines and specialist equipment were sent to the port, Kent Fire and Rescue Service said. Two drivers have been taken into custody.

The Port of Dover added that powder found in the vehicle had been confirmed as non-hazardous and that the port remained operational throughout the incident.
