Immingham cranes poised for action
[ November 17, 2022 // Chris Lewis ]Engineers from Associated British Ports’ Immingham team have completed factory acceptance testing of three new mobile harbour cranes.
The Liebherr 420s, which cost £9.7 million with an additional £500,000 for Nemag grabs, will be arriving later in November from Rostock in northern Germany.
They use a hybrid system which comprises of a diesel generator which runs on HVO and the option to switch to all electric. They will be used for bulk cargo handling and scrap handling and have a 124-tonne lifting capability.
