Imperial completes Palletways conquest

South African-based Imperial Holdings has confirmed its £163m acquisition of the Palletways business from Phoenix Equity Partners. James Wilson, group chief executive added that the pallet operator expects to open a new hub in Poland in early 2017 and another in France in the next 12 months, in addition to three existing facilities in Paris, Montpellier and Lyon. Hubs in Romania, Bulgaria or the Baltic states may come next and Palletways is looking closely at new partnerships in Southern Europe such as Greece, Hungary and the former Yugoslav states, Wilson added.
