Innovate Freight to support the next generation of logisticians
[ October 24, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]Freight and logistics IT consultancy Innovate Freight is to sponsor the government-backed Generation Logistics scheme, which aims to discover and engage a new generation of workers in the sector.
The consultancy has also launched a new Innovate Talent devision, a specialist recruiter for transport and logistics, led by recruiter Mark Chopping, and Innovate Freight’s managing director Richard Litchfield.
Richard Litchfield said: “We’re enthusiastic about transport and logistics as the best business to be in, and we’re excited to launch a new division of the business to find and engage the next generation of logistics talent.
“We know the types of people that thrive in our industry and are therefore thrilled to be supporting Generation Logistics and its essential work in the sector.”
Generation Logistics is aimed at those in their teens and early twenties. Its purpose is to actively address sector shortages by bringing together the Department for Transport with leading employers and trade groups.
Innovate Freight joins other silver sponsors including Amazon, National Highways and Network Rail.
It will help the group focus on young people and their educators as the project, now in its second year, prepares to launch its brand-new Education Hub.
Mark Chopping has worked in recruitment since 1998 and has held positions at organisations including Next Ventures and Korn Ferry.
Richard Litchfield has worked in several senior management roles within the industry including Kuehne + Nagel and most recently specialist freight software company, Forward Solutions.
