Ipswich ready to keep Felixstowe on the move
[ April 3, 2019 // Chris ]The first signs of spring may finally be here, but ABP’s Port of Ipswich recently handled 5,000 tonnes of imported road salt for Suffolk Highways to help make local roads safer.
Taking no chances, Suffolk Highways’ assistant director, Mark Stevens said: “Despite the weather gradually getting warmer, it is important to be prepared for every eventuality. Our salt barns remain well-stocked for any sudden deterioration in conditions.”
Ipswich’s much larger neighbour Felixstowe may also owe its little brother thanks. Ipswich is close to Highway England’s Whitehouse which covers the A14, the main link to the UK’s biggest container hub.
