Ital gains sustainability silver seal of approval

Ital Logistics has been upgraded to Silver status by the EcoVadis business sustainability assessment platform. The Manchester-based forwarder was first assessed in July 2022 by EcoVadis, which rates businesses’ sustainability based on environmental impact, labour and human rights standards, ethics and procurement practices. Ital achieved a score of 61/100, placing it in the top 25% of companies assessed.

Group chairman Phil Denton said: “It is indeed gratifying to have the confirmation that we are, indeed, ‘doing it right’. By the next reassessment, we hope to increase the score further.”

He added that Ital has further initiatives underway which will be able to measure and report its clients’ emissions on a job by job basis, not simply by using averages throughout, but for the parts of the journey where it has full control, allowing it to quantify more accurately.
