Jailed forwarder returns home
[ June 17, 2014 // Chris ]Retired freight forwarder Christopher Tappin has returned home after serving a prison sentence for allegedly selling banned missile batteries to Iran. The former director of Surrey-based Brooklands International Freight Services served part of his sentence in the US jail before being allowed to complete his sentence in the UK. Mr Tappins maintains his innocence, saying he was the victim of a US customs sting operation and had no choice but to enter into a plea bargain with US prosecutors.
