Keeping it simple is secret of success in China
[ November 22, 2012 // Chris ]Allport Cargo Services says it has demystified how to build a successful Chinese supply chain in a new white paper. Complex legislation, “evolving”quality control requirements and demanding labeling regulations, plus an underdeveloped logistics industry and poor infrastructure “create daunting barriers to entering the China market,” says Allport’s managing director for fashion and ecommerce, Simon Pearson.
Often, he adds, the missing ingredient is “finding an operational partner who can translate what is happening on the ground.”
While China’s logistics industry is still developing, “there are plenty of quality operators able to support international brands with their physical logistics requirements.
Pearson urges retailers to keep things simple, and try to “minimise exceptions and non-compliance.”
