Learning the ropes with Rhenus
[ October 14, 2021 // Chris ]Rhenus UK has appointed a number of new starters as part of a relaunched graduate programme.
Over the next two years, the graduates will be introduced to Rhenus UK’s five divisions – Transport (Road, Air & Ocean and Supply Chain), High Tech, Home Delivery and Customs.
The forwarder says this will give them a strong grounding in supply chain planning, European and global freight movements, warehouse management, health and safety, customs and developing the knowledge and experience needed to underpin a successful future career in logistics management.
Each graduate will be allocated a mentor to guide them through their first two years at the company and they will also benefit from key placement support contacts in each location.
The programme’s launch proves that a career in logistics is one that provides exciting and rewarding opportunities for new graduates, says UK road director, Gary Dodsworth: “As an industry, we need to be planning ahead and ensuring that we have a knowledgeable, innovative workforce in place to face both the challenges and the opportunities of the future, especially in the current circumstances. Over the past 18 months, the freight sector has had to quickly adapt to two seismic events – Covid-19 and Brexit. This is reflected in the launch of our dedicated Customs Service department, developed in response to our customers’ need for further support, and our graduates will gain the opportunity to work in this exciting new part of the business.”
He continues: “The programme demonstrates the Rhenus commitment to investing and future-proofing the business, equipping it with the skills needed to thrive in the future. We look forward to developing our graduates into Rhenus talents of the future. With more than 100 years of logistics experience, our history, knowledge and people will support our new starters in their chosen career paths, in turn training them to support the business and play a key role in our future success.”
