Liverpool2 expansion set for summer completion
[ January 11, 2021 // Chris ]Peel Ports Group took delivery of five more cantilever rail-mounted gantry (CRMG) cranes on 7 January, as part of the next phase of growth at its Liverpool2, deep-water container terminal. The new cranes are the first of two deliveries in 2021, which will complete the set of 22 CRMG cranes as part of the £400 million Liverpool2 project.
Once completed, the £400m container terminal will be capable of handling the largest ships in the world, and will offer landside automated gates and vehicle booking systems.
Work on the project is expected to be fully completed in the summer 2021.
