Logistics UK welcomes faster airside vetting

Logistics UK has welcomed the government’s decision to accelerate security vetting checks for new recruits to the aviation industry.

Shortages of security-vetted staff have been blamed for recent delays to flights and aircraft handling at major UK airports.

Policy manager, Alexandra Herdman, said: “While safety and security must always be of paramount importance, it is vital that new staff can be processed into their roles as quickly as possible, particularly as the sector continues to experience a surge in demand.”
