Look beyond Europe, says supply chain expert

CH Robinson Europe director of account management Chris Mills is urging businesses to rethink their supply chain strategies and see Brexit as an opportunity to build more diverse and resilient supply chains.

He says that anecdotal feedback suggests that vehicle utilisation is down by a fifth (20%) for UK-EU trade while recent data from the Road Haulage Association indicates that loads to the EU have reduced as much as 68% year on year.

Traders should consider the opportunity offered by new international markets due to some of the new free trade agreements that Britain has signed with non-European countries such as Singapore and Turkey, in the wake of Brexit.
