Maersk buys e-commerce expertise
[ August 10, 2021 // Chris ]AP Moller – Maersk has bought US-based business-to-consumer (B2C) logistics company Visible Supply Chain Management and B2C Europe Holding, a parcel delivery services based in the Netherlands. Maersk customers are seeing strong e-commerce sales growth and the two acquisitions will address this trend.
Maersk says that Visible SCM’s nine-centre network places fulfilment centres closer to the consumer, allowing faster delivery, allowing it to deliver goods to 75% of the US population within 24 hours. B2C operates a multi-carrier platform with a significant reach and volumes into all European countries through an extensive carrier network.
