Maersk’s Mexico site targets cross-border trade
[ March 22, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]Maersk has opened a 30,000sq m facility in the Tijuana area, targeting cross-border Mexico/US trade. The site at Pacifico Industrial Park targets customers in the technology, automotive, retail, and lifestyle sectors. The site is part of the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services Industry (IMMEX) services program for Tijuana market, which allows companies to temporarily import goods for manufacturing, processing, or repair and subsequently exported free of duties and VAT. It can also operate fulfilment or e-fulfilment operations into the US under the Section 321 scheme for for e-commerce shipments under $800 value.
