Manfreight takes over as DFDS gets out of Ulster reefer business
[ October 18, 2017 // Chris ]Portadown-based haulier Manfreight is to take over DFDS’s reefer line-haul business in northern Ireland as part of a restructuring of logistics activities in Belfast by the Daniosh-owned operator.
DFDS says that the growth and financial performance of the door-door reefer line-haul business between Ireland and Great Britain has not met expectations recently and made a loss in 2017.
Manfreight takes over from 1 November, including more than 100 employees.
DFDS says it will in future focus on door-to-door trailer solutions for ambient cargo, mainly covering Northern Ireland and England/Scotland and contract logistics for major retailers.
Manfresight operates a fleet of over 70 trucks, including 64 modern refrigerated trailers, curtain siders and walking floor trailers.
