Maritime Innovation Week returns in November

Maritime Innovation Week is to return for a third year on 19 – 21 November. It takes place at the BT Tower in London on the first two days, before heading to the 2050 Maritime Innovation Hub at the Port of Tyne for the final day.

Lead partners are the Department for Transport, the British Ports Association, BT, Connected Places Catapult, Frazer-Nash Consultancy, the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) and the Port of Tyne.

The programme will feature panels, roundtables and keynote speeches from some of the most innovative minds from both inside and outside of the maritime sector. The theme will be ‘Accelerate and Amplify: Making Innovation Happen’.

On day one, the event will focus on future trends and emerging technologies shaping the industry, including the latest research on green shipping, decarbonising ports and supply chains, technology and changing markets.

Day two considers how to increase the speed and scale of maritime innovation in practice and will include additional partners London Stock Exchange, Scale-Up Britain, Praxis Auril, the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub (UK-MaRes Hub) and Venture Connect

The day three event at the Maritime Innovation Hub, Port of Tyne will focus on people and place-making, drawing on the North East’s renewables, tech, logistics and advanced manufacturing industries, academic institutions and entrepreneurial culture.
