MSC ships put Liverpool 2 through its paces
[ June 28, 2016 // Chris ]Five MSC vessels of between 2,668 and 4,355teu operating the North West Continent feeder service to Antwerp and Le Havre and the Montreal Express to Canada are helping the Port of Liverpool carry out marine trials of its new Liverpool2 terminal. These will be followed by a variety of cargo handling tests throughout July and August.
Liverpool2 is to have a phased opening through the summer with the first landside phase expected to be fully operational by autumn.
Owner Peel Ports recently completed construction on weighbridges at the Port of Liverpool to help cargo owners comply with the new VGM regulations on container weighing.
