New Felixstowe call as Ocean Three tweaks Asia-Europe routes
[ September 3, 2015 // Chris ]CMA CGM and its Ocean Three partners China Shipping and UASC have launched a new service to replace its FAL2 and FAL3 services, including a new export call from Felixstowe as well as improved transit times, an new import call at Chiwan and a new call in Vietnam. The operators say that the new FAL 23 service will offer some of the best transit times on the market especially between Asia and Le Havre, Rotterdam and Antwerp
Vietnam will be directly served with a new call at Cai Mep Deep Sea terminal in Ho Chi Minh City.
The new route will be maintained by 12 12-15,000teu vessels will follow the rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Cai Mep, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Jeddah, Port Kelang, Chiwan, Shanghai, starting eastbound from Antwerp on 28 September.
The FAL 1 and FAL 8 services were optimised from mid-August with a new call at Qingdao added to the FAL1 service and transit times from Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian and Port Kelang to Southampton and European ports reduced by three days.
The FAL1 route is maintained by 18,000teu vessels with the rotation: Tianjin, Dalian, Pusan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Port Kelang, Algeciras, Southampton, Dunkirk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Khor Fakkan, Yantian, Tianjin.
From 13 Octobe, CMA CGM will add Xiamen on its FAL8 service. The new rotation is: Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Port Kelang, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hambourg, Zeebruge, Rotterdam, Port Kelang, Yantian, Qingdao.
