New look leadership for Hellmann
[ December 1, 2015 // Chris ]German-owned forwarder Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Dr Thomas Knecht as part of an overhaul of its top management. He will be responsible for strategy, corporate development and legal and compliance issues. At the same time, Hellmann has appointed a new executive board, to lead the company into the future.
Owner Klaus Hellmann said the new arrangement would give a stronger market focus in an industry that has been affected by intense competition and high margin pressures in recent years.
The new executive board consists of a management board including the two owners and the managing director, the company management with four directors for the finance, processes/digitization, sales/marketing and human resources departments, as well as the heads of the three product divisions: road transport, air and sea freight and contract logistics.
The three product divisions will be led by ‘product CEOs’. Juergen Burger will assume responsibility for road transport and Jochen Freese for air and sea freight. Felix Scherberich will continue to lead contract logistics.
