New training requirement for dangerous goods

[ January 2, 2025   //   ]

New ADR 2025 dangerous goods regulations come into force from the beginning of the year, reports Manchester-based specialist Ital Logistics.

One change is that whereas only the driver was required to have basic training to carry dangerous goods in Limited Quantities, all participants will need to have undertaken training. Whilst new regulations are optional in January, they become mandatory from the end of June.

It applies to individuals such as personnel employed by the road vehicle operator or the consignor, personnel who load or unload dangerous goods, personnel in freight forwarding or shipping agencies and drivers of vehicles (other than drivers holding a certificate in accordance with 8.2.1) involved on the carriage of dangerous goods by road.

Ital Logistics is offering bespoke awareness courses tailored to the needs of freight forwarders.
