Norbert Dentressangle buys US firm
[ July 31, 2014 // Chris ]French-owned forwarding and logistics company Norbert Dentressangle is to buy Des Moines, Indiana-based transport and logistics firm Jacobson from private equity firm Oak Hill Capital for $750 million. The deal, which is expected to close mid-September 2014, is subject to regulatory approvals. Founded in 1968 Jacobson is described as one of the largest value-added warehousing 3PL providers in North America with sm sq m of property at 142 sites and an annual turnover of approximately $800 million in 2013 and 5,500 employees.
On 31 July, Norbert Dentressangle announced first half revenues for 2014 of €2,191m, up 13.4%. Air and sea revenue was up over 50% to €96m.
