Ocean members reveal five-year plan
[ March 15, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]The members of the Ocean Alliance – CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping, Evergreen and OOCL – have revealed details of a new ‘Day 8’ service, following the extension of their agreement for at least five additional years, from 2027 to 2032.
The new service pattern aims to maintain reliability in the face of the unstable situation in the Red Sea, which ships taking the longer route via the Cape of Good Hope.
Ocean will deploy 321 container ships, operating 35 services and with a total capacity of 4.5 million TEU.
There will be six services between Asia and Northern Europe and two transatlantic routes, along with four between Asia and the Mediterranean, 20 Transpacific services, 20 between Asia and North America and three between Asia and the Persian Gulf.
Two services between Asia and the Red Sea are suspended until further notice.
