Outstanding employees carry the baton for Schenker
[ July 18, 2014 // Chris ]Two employees from Schenker – Official Logistics Provider for the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow – took part in the Queen’s Baton Relay on 16 July, following nominations for their involvement in community sports.
Lorin McCrystal, chairperson of the London Borough of Hounslow Swimming Club, was nominated by her colleague Kimberley York for her outstanding work, supporting swimming in the local community. When not in or around a swimming pool, she is payroll co-ordinator at London Heathrow.
And Heathrow based warehouse apprentice, Hugh Smith was also selected to take part after being nominated for his outstanding contribution to the Hillingdon Slipstreamers Cycling Club. His determination to pass his skills to younger members of the club and help them develop as cyclists in his spare time is a reflection of his incredible work ethic.
CEO of DB Schenker Logistics in the UK, Helgi Ingolfsson, said: “DB Schenker has exceptional employees and we are delighted to have had two highly respected community champions taking part in the Queen’s Baton Relay. Lorin and Hugh were fantastic ambassadors for DB Schenker at the Queen’s Baton Relay and we can be very proud of their combined achievements.”
