Pall-Ex starts Bulgaria service
[ June 30, 2017 // Chris ]Pall-Ex has officially opened its new network in Bulgaria. Operations began on 23 June after a deal was struck with one of the country’s largest courier operators, Econt, making Bulgaria is the latest country to join Pall-Ex’s growing European network, which now includes the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Romania and Benelux. Pall-Ex Bulgaria will operate from a central hub in Plovdiv and has an 18 member-strong network.
Ruse-headquartered Econt has 520 offices and 14 logistics centres.
Pall-Ex Bulgaria managing director, Pavel Penchev, said: “Compared to other countries in Europe, the domestic market is fairly unstructured and we often see freight being delivered through courier networks or long distance multi drops, which can be slower and more expensive.
“We see the demand for pallet services increasing throughout the region, and we are keen to revolutionise the market with Pall-Ex Bulgaria. We are proud to have played a pivotal role in the introduction of a new form of palletised distribution to Bulgaria.”
Pall-Ex’s international development director, Anand Assi, added: “Our consolidated palletised loads allow smaller shipments to be delivered quickly too. This means that no matter whether an order is due in a big city or rural village – we can get there quickly.”
