Paper firm inks Tilbury deal

SCA, Europe’s largest private forest owner and producer of wood products, packaging paper, pulp and renewable energy, is to return to the Port of Tilbury from Sheerness. The Swedish owned company has signed a long term deal with the UK Paper Hub at the Forth Ports-owned gateway. The 50-acre facility on the Thames will become SCA’s primary UK logistics hub for the import of packaging materials to supply its UK customers.

SCA moves substantial volumes of packaging paper and other third-party cargoes on its own ro ro vessels via terminals terminals including Umea, Sundsvall, Helsingborg, Oxelösund, Malmo, Iggesund and Kiel.

It will also export RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) from Tilbury.
