Partners see Transaid work at first hand

[ June 25, 2024   //   ]

A group of 12 Transaid corporate partners have returned from a self-funded visit to Zambia to visit two of the international development organisation’s projects.

It included a 500-mile round trip by road into rural parts of Serenje and Chitambo Districts to meet with local partners and see Transaid’s maternal health and malaria projects, as well as a day at the Industrial Training Centre (ITC) in the capital, Lusaka, where Transaid has been helping to deliver professional driver training for 16 years. On the same day, the group had a round-table meeting with the Minister of Science and Technology, Felix Mutati.

Malcolm Group’s logistics managing director, Jim Haldane, said: “The experience overall was emotional, humbling and eye-opening and I am grateful for the opportunity. There is no substitute for having seen first-hand the challenging and impactful work of Transaid and its UK partners. I know that my lasting memories will certainly drive me to continue our support and promote awareness for a very worthy cause.”
