PD Ports urges firms to plug the skills gap

PD Ports called on other employers to help plug the engineering skills gap as it celebrated 15 years of apprenticeships and welcomed a further three new recruits for its programme. The latest figures from the Department for Education revealed a 61% year-on-year drop in new apprenticeships. PD Ports was due to recruit a further 13 apprentices across multiple disciplines by the end of 2017.
