Peel goes to college
[ November 7, 2012 // Chris ]Peel Ports Mersey has signed partnership agreements with two local colleges; Liverpool Community College and Mersey Maritime Group. The aim is to increase investment in skills and create more specialist jobs in the region as the port gears up for the opening of its Liverpool2 container terminal. Peel’s managing director Gary Hodgson said that the move would help make local people “work-ready for the maritime and logistics sector” while Elaine Bowker, principal and chief executive of the Liverpool Community College said the opening of a University Technical College in 2014 “will provide important academic and technical training in logistics.”
