Potter buys House of James
[ May 17, 2012 // Chris ]Ripon-based Potter Group Logistics has acquired House of James Transport of York for an undisclosed sum. The purchase of the York logistics and pallet network operator increases Potter Group’s turnover by 50% to around £22m and adds 100,000 sq. ft. of warehousing, 35 vehicles and 55 trailers. House of James’ managing director Simon Gill will remain with the combined businesses as commercial director.
Potter Group Logistics’ managing director Matthew Lamb said that the buy was part of Potter’s continuing growth strategy and was a good fit with its existing business, adding: “The acquisition will enable us to offer our existing customer base improved services and will allow us to create new opportunities for Potter Group Logistics enhancing our position in the value added logistics market.”
