Rail from Italy will be NTEX London focus

[ March 17, 2022   //   ]

Rail freight from northern Italy to the UK, via Rotterdam, will be a major focus for Swedish owned forwarder NTEX’s new London office.

NTEX’s UK arm already has a headquarters in Immingham, as well as offices in Bristol and Glasgow, and the new office in London is part of the drive to become a major player in the European market.

NTEX already has an established traffic with the Scandinavian countries, but is now taking further steps towards becoming a complete European logistics company.

NTEX UK chief executive Dan Ericsson said: “Scandinavia will continue to be our largest market for some time to come. We see several opportunities for us to grow in the European market, not least among NTEX’s new offices in Italy, Belgium, France, and Austria.”

NTEX UK employs around 190 people. In addition to freight forwarding and logistics, it also has its own fleet of around 80 vehicles, consisting of tractor units and distribution trucks, as well as its terminals and warehouses.

NTEX UK has a turnover of around SEK 600 million, an increase of over 20% between 2020 and 2021.

“We want to continue to grow, both through acquisitions and organically. We chose London because that’s where the expertise towards the Italian market is. Our employees are doing a great job, and we have seen a positive development on the new line from Italy,” added Ericsson.
