Rail operator reaches deal with unions
[ April 26, 2017 // Chris ]DB Cargo UK says it has reached agreement with its four trade union partners – ASLEF, RMT, TSSA and Unite – on a restructuring plan announced last October to cut 893 jobs, or almost a third of its workforce. Working arrangements of employees will also be updated and modernised, the rail freight operator added.
DB Cargo has had to grapple with a rapid decline in one of its core markets, coal, although other segments such as aggregates and steel remain strong.
It will launch its future business model on 2 July, as planned.
