Rails to the Rhine
[ September 12, 2019 // Chris ]CMA CGM Group has launched a Rhine Valley Rail service linking the port of Rotterdam with the German hinterland. Six departures per week will run to inland hubs at Dortmund, Duisburg and Ludwigshafen, operated in cooperation with TFG with a first train departure on 18 October.
In Rotterdam, the trains will call at the Euromax, RWG and ECT terminals and will be synchronized with the arrivals and departures of the CMA CGM Group’s vessels
The group says the services will help avoid road and barge congestion and low Rhine river water levels.
