Regional ports conference

The Institute for Sustainability is hosting a conference entitled ‘The role of regional ports: transforming sustainable freight movement’ con 10 October in Ostend, Belgium. It will discuss how European regional ports have been optimising their operations to become more efficient and robust transport hubs.

The institute’s head of programmes, Lali Virdee, says that regional ports are often overlooked as a sustainable option in the movement of goods across short distances but, by enhancing port services, they could take cargo off congested roads.
