Reimer acquires out-of-gauge specialist SLS

Heavylift operator Reimer has acquired out of gauge forwarder Specialist Logistics Services and its partner company Martin Burgess Logistics following the retirement of owner and founder, Martin Burgess.

Reimer already owns Luton-based low loader and specialist trailer operator Doherty Heavy Haulage.

The new managing director of SLS, Hasan Huseyin said: “I’m excited about the new take over. I have a fantastic and knowledgeable team working alongside me and we all look forward to the bright future ahead.”  

The acquisition will allow SLS to directly utilise Doherty’s fleet of vehicles, offering more competitive rates on UK move but both companies will continue to be run independently.

Martin Burgess said: “I will always be indebted to my former directors and current colleagues for making the business the success it has become and the sheer hard work and effort has paid off in the end allowing for the business to have bright future ahead of it under Reimer’s control.
