Revived Ellerman adds another string to its sailings

[ April 11, 2023   //   ]

Ellerman City Liners, the Essex-based liner shipping service operated by Uniserve, is adding a new weekly service between Gdynia, Poland to Teesport and Tilbury. The first sailing of the dedicated short sea service is due to sail from Poland on 28 April, offering a transit time of 3-4 days.

Essex-based forwarder Uniserve has revived the long-defunct shipping brand, initially with services between North Europe and the Far East and US, followed, in December 2022, by a short sea route linking Teesport, Tilbury, Rotterdam, Cadiz and Setubal.

General manager of key accounts at Teesport operator, PD Ports, Kim Catterick, said:  “The new route demonstrates the trust that global shippers have in PD Ports in offering reliable and effective services and signifies that Teesport continues to provide direct access into Europe, avoiding the congestion of busier ports in the South.

“The new route is a testament to the positive collaboration between PD Ports and Ellerman City Liners and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship to support further trade growth.”

Operations director at Ellerman City Liners, Mathis Stöckmann, added: “We are looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with PD Ports at Teesport. The new service from Poland also offers one of the best transit times to US East Coast – New York can be reached from Teesport in just 14 days by connecting to our USX service.”
