Rhenus opens Italian life sciences arm

Rhenus Air & has opened a dedicated life sciences and healthcare vertical in Italy to offer specialised logistics solutions for time- and temperature-sensitive products.

It will offer cold chain management techniques, temperature-controlled facilities and tracking systems throughout the country by air, ocean or road.

The company is also pursuing the Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification, scheduled by the end of this year.

Under new head of life sciences and healthcare in Italy, Andrea Battaglia, Rhenus Air & Ocean will collaborate closely with local firms in the sector to develop customised logistics strategies that optimise cold chain management.
