Rhenus plans Kazakh hub
[ February 25, 2020 // Chris ]Rhenus Group is planning to establish a business site and container depot at Karaganda, Kazakhstan. The country has become a major hub on the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative with connections to the Chinese province of Jiangsu and Rotterdam as well as along the Xinjiang, Iran and Turkey corridor. More than half of all the freight trains operating between China and Europe pass through the country. Rhenus already has operations in the capital, Nur-Sultan, and in Almaty, the country’s largest city, through its container logistics subsidiary, Rhenus Intermodal Systems.
