Rhenus starts work on Venlo site

German-owned forwarder Rhenus is building a new 33,000sq m warehouse at Venlo in the Netherlands. It has signed a sustainable redevelopment agreement for 20 years with asset manager Abrdn for the building, located in Greenport Venlo, which will be redeveloped to BREEAM Excellent and Well Silver standards. It will be divided into a 16,000sq m warehouse, 12,000sq m transshipment area, 3,300sq m mezzanine and 1,400sq m office. Construction will start in September is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024.
