Right first time for Ital Transport driver

[ January 25, 2024   //   ]

Ital Transport Class 2 driver Chris Smith has passed his Class 1 test on the first attempt with no faults.

His initial training was online, followed by hands on sessions before taking the test. It formed part of Chris’ Annual Professional Development Plan, an opportunity for upskilling his license.

Ital Transport is a sister company to north Manchester-based Ital Logistics and is a Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze operator as well as a Road Haulage Association (RHA) member.

He is now looking forward to getting out in one of Ital Transport’s Class 1 vehicles. The licence will allow him to drive articulated vehicles up to the largest permissible weight, whereas a Class 2 licence limits the driver to rigid vehicles of up to 32 tonnes.

Managing director of Ital Transport Simon Morley, said: “Upskilling and professional development is key to how we operate as a company. Ital Transport (UK) strives to be at the top of its game, employing well trained and skilled drivers who take great care over their work. The manner in which Chris has recently passed is testament to this mentality, and is akin to our company goals.”
