[ November 4, 2015   //   ]

The Port of Tyne’s safety drive has paid off with a second consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Chief executive Andrew Moffat (pictured) said: “Safety is the number one priority for the Port of Tyne and we are constantly working to improve our performance. This includes campaigns raising awareness, targeting common causes of injuries and encouraging near miss reporting.”

In 2012 the port achieved the internationally recognised Health and Safety standard OHSAS:18001 for its safety management system which has been re-certified this year.
