Schenker takes Lufthansa award again

German forwarder DB Schenker has gained Lufthansa Cargo’s  Excellence Award for the second time in a row.

The cargo airline again recognised the forwarder’s outstanding performance over the past year, which was particularly reflected in the joint growth in the Asian, German and Western European markets. Despite the pandemic-related capacity crunch, the tonnage transported for DB Schenker increased significantly.

Lufthansa Cargo chair Dorothea von Boxberg said it was very rare customers to succeed in defending the title. She added that DB Schenker has continued to push the use digital services with an e-airwaybill rate of 92% and electronic house manifests at 72%.

Lufthansa Cargo’s Global Partnership Program is a central platform for sustainable growth for Lufthansa Cargo and its largest customers, account for a good third of Lufthansa Cargo’s revenue. The Excellence Award has been presented since 2002.
