Schiphol freighters fail to offset drooping bellies

An increase in full freighter cargo did not make up for the decline in belly traffic in the first half of 2020 at Amsterdam Schiphol airport, which saw a 14.% fall in freight to 655,942 tonnes. Full freighter flights were up 48.1% but the number of belly flights dropped by 51.6%. However Schiphol rose from fourth to third in the list of the busiest European cargo hubs during the period.
