Ship Canal takes the strain
[ September 21, 2017 // Chris ]Esprit Warehousing and Docks Trafford Park terminal in Manchester handled another large shipment on 19-20 September from Europe via the Manchester Ship Canal.
The 3,500 tonne MV Scot Ranger was carrying four large silos destined for a Manchester factory.
Unloading was managed by Trafford Park company Speedrite before making the final leg of the journey under police escort.
Group director Graham Dixon said: “This is exactly what the ship canal should be used for – let’s get freight back on the Manchester Ship Canal, reducing congestion and pollution on the roads.”
He adds that another even bigger shipment is due to arrive next week.
