Solent on Thames

Solent Stevedores has formally opened its new empty container depot at DP Wolrd London Gateway. Work on the new facility started in 2017 with operations beginning in April.

The stevedoring company’s five-acre off-dock yard will offer a range of empty container handling and storage services at Berth 7, outside the terminal’s ISPS perimeter and adjacent to the port’s main gate.

Solent Stevedores managing director, Fiona Robson, said: “The new London Gateway site means we can offer our users an enhanced service that enables them to significantly streamline their operations. The launch of the site follows expansion of our successful service offerings at Port of Southampton, Port of St Helier, Port of Immingham and Silvertown, London.”
