Stewart Oades to be next John Good chairman

Hull-based family-owned logistics and shipping company John Good Group has appointed Stewart Oades deputy chairman as part of its long-term succession plan.

Over the next 12 months, he will work closely with the chairman, John Rutherford, and managing director, Alan Platt before taking over as group chairman in May 2018 John Good has 16 locations including Hull, Felixstowe, London Gateway and Manchester and has recently opened offices in Liverpool, Bradford, Plymouth, Bristol and Cardiff. It has overseas offices in Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and China. During his career, Stewart Oades has held senior management positions in Christian Salveson and Exel as well as serving as president of the Freight Transport Association. He is currently a senior independent non-executive director for Wincanton and Reflex Van Hire and is also chairman of Dalepak.
