Strike threat at Freightliner Southampton
[ May 14, 2012 // Chris ]The RMT union is to ballot its members on possible industrial action at Freightliner’s Southampton depot in a dispute over rosters and restructuring. RMT General Secretary Bob Crow complained that the company had withdrawn previous concessions made during negotiations that have been going on for over a year and and had employed “aggressive and underhand tactics”. He added: “The union is confident that our members will show their strength of feeling to the company by returning a massive yes vote in the ballot for industrial action.”
The ballot takes place on 16-30 May.
