Sunny outlook for Transmec CO2 emissions

Groupage operator Transmec has installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of its Via Strasburgo headquarters in Campogalliano near Modena in Italy.

It says the energy generated will meet not only the energy needs of its  offices but also its warehouses, significantly decreasing environmental impact of the entire company’s operations.

Three systems – one dedicated to each warehouse – will be installed over the next six months.

Transmec Group has also invested in rail transport, which saves 0.83kg of CO2/km compared to road transport.
