Surefreight opens Heysham site
[ September 4, 2017 // Chris ]Haulier Surefreight has opened a new £1.3 million depot at the port of Heysham in Lancashire, from where ferry operator Seatruck runs regular services to Ireland.
Opening of the new depot was marked by a ceremony on 2 September and follows the opening of a new link from the Peel Ports owned facility, to the M6 motorway, avoiding the need to cross the town of Lancaster.
Port director Nick Ridehalgh, said: “The new M6 link road put in place has already helped to improve access to and from the port. This has in turn led to more investment being made in the area, which is a positive outcome for businesses and the local community.”
Brian McManus of Surefreight commented: “This investment is very much part of our overall strategic distribution plan to add value for our customers and, of course, to people in the local area. Not only will it help us to grow our own client relationships, but it will allow other businesses to grow theirs too.”
