Survey reveals high costs to the Caucasus

[ November 1, 2023   //   ]

The most costly countries to ship to are Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, according to a study by cross-border shopping platform UBuy Switzerland.

The research compared shipping costs from everywhere in the world to all European countries.

The three Caucasus neighbours shared the top spot with an average cost of €143.74.

Close behind them came Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus by a whisker with an average cost of €143.56.

Serbia came next with an average of €129.86, a significant drop from the first two spots, followed by Iceland, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania with an average cost of €129.50 with Turkey very close behind at €120.49.

Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland came next (€129.46), Gibraltar (€129.40), Cyprus (€117.42), Andorra (€114.16) and Malta (€113.65).

UBuy Switzerland attributed the high cost to Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus regions to factors including geopolitical complexities, infrastructure challenges, and customs regulations.
