Swissterminal takes on Alsace operations
[ January 12, 2021 // Chris ]Swissterminal is to take over operations of the three inland ports in Alsace, France at Ottmarsheim, Huningue-Village-Neuf and Ile Napoléon during 2021 after winning an international tender. The Swiss-based integrated logistics operator will form a new wholly owned subsidiary, Alsaceterminal. New rail connections will link the region with the two main French seaports of Le Havre and Marseille-Fos and inland shipping links to Rotterdam and Antwerp will be strengthened. The bulk port in Huningue-Village-Neuf, about 35km southeast of Mulhouse, will be developed into a rail, barge and truck transhipment terminal for container traffic with Switzerland by 2025.
